Hi JH!

I saw the titles of these two operas in the subject-line and hoped you were about to tell us your reactions!?  No, I've not seen them either.

ETO do a great deal of Handel, obviously...  I saw their ARIODANTE a while ago, and found it quite convincing musically.  The production was very sparse, although the circumstances within which they must work (touring to venues of all shapes and sizes, tiny budget, appallingly punishing touring schedule with a lot of "night-work" to get shows in and out for just a single perf in each place) must inevitably bear some blame in that.
