This isn't a new story, as the vultures have been circling over Bavaria for some time now - but it now seems more likely than ever that WW will be forced to hand the Tarnhelm to younger hands...

... story covered in The Times:

It's all family politics, isn't it? Parentage here seems much more important than ability, which is surely short-sighted: it's likely to store up problems for the future. In virtually all family businesses the time comes when outside blood is needed to maintain the momentum.

If the Wagner family really wanted to shock and upset people, they should just hand the whole festival over to Christian Thielemann and have done with it!  Wink
