Industrial action over pay and conditions has resulted in a strike at La Scala.  So far a performance of the Verdi Requiem has been cancelled, but further performances may be affected:

Meantime in Paris it's still unclear if employees at the Paris Opera will join the National Strikes planned for next week against the policies of M Sarkozy.   (Hmmm, I suppose I mostly support such a strike, but I bet I will not get a refund on my ticket for next week Sad )

And what with the Broadway stage crews and the Hollywood writers out as well, it's all rather an entertainment autumn of discontent, isn't it?

My friend and I had tickets for a performance of Attila at the Rome Opera a couple of years ago, which was cancelled due to a strike.  We did get a refund in cash from the box office, but were unable to recover the tax we had paid on the original transaction.
