Just booked seats for self and partner with restricted view.
I am really looking forward to it. It is one piece of music that I found just a bit consoling and hopeful during a very dark time in my life.
Anyone else going?

Some of us would love to, but just can't justify the trip. On the other hand there is this rather closer this weekend, at which I will be present.

Yes, I'd be more tempted by that, Ron! But I won't be in the UK at the time. It's inspiring to see that projects of that kind are getting funding to tour, though

It's many years since I heard a new piece by Nigel O. Some of the things he wrote in the 1980s I found very impressive ( Sinfonia 1 for example).

Hmm, yes. Born Manchester, 1948.

I wonder if it is widely known that John Noble, who to all intents and purposes created the role of Pilgrim, died recently. I only know so much as is to be found at the link below, but it might be appropriate for his death to be marked at the Sadlers Wells performance. http://www.overgrownpath.com/2008/04/pilgrim-enters-celestial-city.html

I've just been asked if I can go to this and I may well be able to...in which case, it would be nice to meet up with Ruth and Don B, if my online rants haven't scared them off too much.....

I'd be pleased to meet you, sk. Last thing I saw at Sadlers Well was Opera North in Weil's One Touch of Venus, a contemporary but rather different work.

I'd like to meet you too, S_K. I'm not sure where I'll be sitting yet, as I think I will be there on a press freebie (having offloaded original paid-for Second Circle seat onto former flatmate).
