 Angry

The planned broadcasts of the ROH Ring Cycle on BBC4 and BBC2 in February and March seem to have disappeared!!!! It no longer seems to be on the ROH website!!! They can't have postponed them AGAIN, surely.

According to the Radio Times site, Rheingold is to be shown on BBC4 on 17 February, 7.20 - 10.00 pm.

Presumably the others will follow as per the earlier Opera House announcement.

I suppose that on this board (rather than the Other Place), one could make contact with others who have been fortunate enough to get tickets for one of the autumn cycles?

Like me, for instance!

I'm going to cycle 1, gabs. It's the one with Terfel and without Domingo. I booked online with Friends' priority and secured tickets for the cycle with Bryn and Placido, but then the blasted payment thing packed up and I lost the tickets. By then both the Domingo cycles were sold out and I got slightly less good seats for cycle 1.  Angry
I've made myself feel better with the thought that I saw Domingo in Walkure three times last time around (including the prom); that he couldn't be as good next time (surely??), and that reports of Simon O'Neill are pretty good.
I just wish they could find someone better than Treleaven.
What about you, gabs?

Yes, I'm at the unicycle too q;o)

Standing, at the back, for 17 hours q:o(

Who cares, I got tickets! Even if it does mean 4 tricky trips up from deepest Wiltshire.

I saw the WNO cycle - over 4 seasons - in the mid-80s, but have never done a condensed cycle like this.

Maybe we'll chat about it nearer the time. Roll on summer - and, for the first time in my life - autumn.
