Full story as reported on Bloomberg - not at all my usual web-reading, it just seemed to have appeared first there.

Lots of interest to discuss here, not least the season of chamber works at the Young Vic including "Punch & Judy".

But where are the new works??

Marvellous, you are in for a double treat with both AIDA and ROSENKAV in store for you.

"Music & Musicians" in the current edition of Private Eye takes a very pessimistic view of ENO's financial situation, suggesting that the Govt might find it more convenient to just close-down one organisation (ENO) entirely, rather than short all the rest of them on their grant-in-aid Sad

I view this time in history as in cultural decline, so nothing would really surprise me.

I see Robert Carsen's production of Candide is scheduled, which was shown from Paris on BBC4 a few months ago and was brilliant.
