Oh, I can't wait any longer. The anticipation for tomorrow night has been killing me all week (in the library with a candlestick, if you're interested). It's even worse now after the Preview Night's' tantalising snippet of the Turkish section of Beethoven 9 being rehearsed in the background. All sounded very precisely done to me.

The start of the Proms is a sure sign that summer has arrived, never mind the weather.

To be honest, with two performances of Beethoven's 9th scheduled, I'm not as excited as I should be. The concert on Saturday afternoon seems the most interesting out of the first few.

can anyone enlighten me as to the details of the offer which appeared in today's Times (about which I have only just discovered  Angry). The offer was one free Prom a week. Did it just contain this week's voucher, or a booklet with one for each week inside it?

If it was the booklet option, I'm screwed.  Angry

There was a letter in today's Times (actually yesterday's now that it's 12.45am) complaining about the paucity of Mozart in the Proms season. To support her case she said that Mozart was often requested on Classic FM. Could the amount of Mozart last year have something to do with it? Why do they print such letters?
