Frazzling commute but I made it down there. Interesting to hear the lyrical side of the Berio having got used to Boulez' pointillistic approach. I thought the blend of wind and vocals was just superb, and the 1st:2nds seemed to help this work. I had great dificulty in not humming along with the Rossini, how about you guys?I think the link if any is that Berio's Dad Adolfo was an old opera hand (Reiner will have more on this I'm sure) and that the interpretation was almost bel canto in instrumental terms. I hadnt realised first- hand what a skilled conductor AP is -there were a few tiny shaky moments that I saw him reunite in a seamless nanosecond.
Good to have room to move around in the arena and bar, but it crossed my mind that it wouldnt be too difficult for 2s and 3s of us to congregtate thereabouts if
collectively we don't mind standing?
Off for a bit of destressing in Somerset back but back in town next week.Have a good rest-of-the-week all.

I'm definitely up for a bit of standing around, mf. Was hoping to make it tonight but it's looking pretty impossible. Angry Not sure what the next date in my diary is but I'll keep you posted.

Easeful is not the first word that comes to mind, mf, but 'easeful as possible' always leaves room for interpretation I suppose. I'll survive, in one shape or another! Just a question of whether the words that come out come out well.

¡Andale andale! Enjoy smrst.
