Over in TOP someone reports that he has bursitis and needs a shoulder operation.

Clio Gould was certainly earning her keep as leader last night, some very emphatic movements when Noddy's minimalistic approach was leading to some dodgy ensemble.

i wandered why they didn't remove the podium altogether as well, but he did lean on it at times I think.

But how many leading conductors give a clear, simple beat?

Mackerras!  Grin

is he the only living conductor you like, opilec?

as for gatti, i was always impressed with his (sporadic) appearances in nottingham; the highlight of which was a great Berg violin concerto with kavakos as soloists. gatti even rehearsed it from memory, bar no.'s and everything. at least he made the rpo sound semi-decent.

... I really do not like having that invitation to press the red button on the screen, so will sit there ready to hit the "back up" button on the remote, as soon as that damned removable DOG appears. Shame we can't have the BBC4 DOG put down in the same way.

Well, fancy that! For this morning's BBC4 repeat of last evening's Prom, despite 'Suzy Creamcheese' inviting us to press the red button for the Proms Guide, there was no Proms Guide DOG, and pressing the red button brought up the option for News Multiscreen, and not the Proms Guide. Not only that, but there was no BBC4 DOG either. Saints be praised, what a wonderful failure of BBC technology. Thank you, whoever forgot to flick the switch(es). Wink

Update:

The damned "PROMS NOTES" DOG was switched on during the Korngold, after I had gone (back) to bed. Sad
