For the past couple of weeks I have occasionally been presented with Sky error messages advising that no satellite signal is being received. At first I though it might be those damned magpies, or possibly the big sweet chestnut a few gardens up the road. I tried Googling and found a few suggested remedies, none of which worked. Now and then the signal would be restored as if nothing had happened. In the end, rather than fork out the £60 fee to have Sky come and sort it out, I took a chance on ordering a new LNB (£9.99 incl. p&p) which arrived today. Simplicity itself to replace the old one and after only a few minutes fiddling with the position selector I have good picture and sound again. Now, where did I put that reel of self-amalgamating tape? I know I put it somewhere safe.
