Hello.  I'm looking for ear training software.

I'm not at all gifted when it comes to musical hearing and I have to train very hard to keep it up.  But I've let it slip these last couple of months and I've noticed I'm beginning to have difficulties discriminating between a second and a major third...  Shocked  I used to brush up my hearing with shareware-demo-whatnot ear training software programmes I plucked from the Internet now and then and they were very helpful.  But the problem is, they only last for a two-week-trial period, or they have limited features... etc.  I can't seem to find a truly decent one...

So, I'm looking for an extensive ear training programme, that I can download from the Internet, for free, full version, no demo.  'Is such a thing possible in Nature?'

(And, if I can be really picky, I like the programmes that are like a game: you start off with simple exercises and you progress through levels, until you're able to identify whole melodic lines... The game aspect makes it exciting...)

Anyone out there who knows of such a programme?  I've discovered MediaMonkey and Audacity via this board, maybe there's another truly good piece of musical software I have to find out about??

Maybe this is the sort of thing you are looking for.

From memory I think you can download the second one for free. Hope they're some use to you.

Many thanks!!  These are really great!  I hadn't thought of online website who would provide hearing exercises...

And now to developing the discipline to practice every day...

Thanks again -  Smiley Smiley

This one too: http://www.sendspace.com/file/81yehi is mature and has many useful features; it may match the Member's requirements. Indeed we use it ourselves when we are in the mood for a little training. Let us know what you think.

Sorry for a belated answer.

I find this one useful too!  It's very comprehensive and I especially like the exercises for identifying whole melodic phrases, which is what I eventually would like to be able to do.

I'm now having trouble choosing between the different possibilities!

Many thanks for your kind help.
