Is there any chance that the dates of posts could be shown (not just today or yesterday, but so that they still have a date on them if they are older than that)?

Regards,

hidehi

it seeeems to depend on what time format you have in your profile settings. to change your time format, click on Profile up the top there, then click on "look and layout preferences" down on the left, then change the time format (the one one up from the bottom worked for me but i don't know about the others) and click change profile and with any luck the dates of all postings should magically appear!

This is really great.

I've done it to my profile and it's solved the problem at a stroke. Thanks.

But it looks as though it might be possible to change the default option for our boards as a whole to this option? Because what we have to change from is the default setting, which shows as "forum default". So maybe Michaal can change the forum default, so that people who make no changes automatically get the dates according to the option two from the bottom?

Maybe not. I just wondered. Otherwise we need a post on "announcements" telling people how to change their own date options.

No.

Being a free board I am limited to the options I can implement as a board default.

EDIT - Having spoken to our host, we might be able to implement an update to current SMF version to be able to do this, but it will be a few hours of updating before I can tell if it worked.  I will probably be unavailable for this time.
