And if you can't make it there yourself, you can buy things over the phone and they post them to you, plus anything they don't have they can usually track down for you, however obscure.
Plus there are many good pubs and bars in the Deansgate area of Manchester (where the shop is) so you could make a day of it

My wife was brought up not far from Manchester and so we know the area quite well! Last time we went, we spent a most interesting morning in the Manchester City art gallery as well as some time in Forsyths (I applied for a job there abour 13 years ago but didn't get it!) I didn't know they did the reservation by phone thing - many thanks for mentioning that, most useful!
