A Warm Wessel Welcome to blossum82 and, of course, to all other new members.

Probably born in 1982 -- after a quarter century of r3ok-less misery, welcome to our midsts.

Hope you like it.

Yes, blossom82, and any others, of course you are very welcome.

But I wonder whether these welcoming threads, as well intentioned as they are, might be backfiring. Speaking as a rather shy person myself, receiving so much attention so early one could be overwhelming and these new members might feel all eyes are on them to post something interesting and important. After all, we do get a trickle of new members who end up posting nothing.

Just a thought.  Undecided

Good thought Tony, we must seem an odd bunch when first viewed on a thread such as this, let's hope Blossum has a good look round.

There is a page in the admin section with additional info on members, like when each last visited. Blossum is one of five current members who have never visited since registering, but he/she was only activated today.

I think there's about 70 members who have never posted, though some have visited recently  Undecided

Being more positive, I suggest that we don't put up such welcoming messages until the person in question has posted something.

I'd like to counter that by suggesting that most new members must already have looked around for a while before joining and have a good idea of what to expect, so that those of a paranoid nature might think they're being ignored, since there have been so many other welcomes in the past which are there for all to see: I'm sure that the vast majority who sign up are already aware of the outgoing nature that most of us seem to possess, and hope that it's our friendliness and willingness to welcome which helps to encourage them to join us.

Some of us have an outgoing nature, some of us have only an outgoing e-nature. But I agree w/ Ron, the ones who feel unwelcome due to the break in tradition will outnumber the ones who are apt to drown in too much attention.
