Not necessarily Ron. I was born in Dumfries and can tell you that Sassenach (meaning 'of Saxon origin') was/is applied equally to Lowland Scots as to the English, possibly as English became their main language some centuries ago.

Soz Ron, I've just realised properly that scottycelt is over there (knew I'd seen the name before). He's a footie fan too so there might be a chance for a Football Board here  Wink  - but I have noted a majority opposition here about football so less said the better methinks  Tongue
