You really live near the Kremlin? Is it safe to talk? Actually, on that matter, I found a very interesting book on Russian jazz. Jazz is what I like. And I'd be interested if you have any knowledge of it, and could start a discussion in the Jazz section (or anyone else for that matter).

I can't say I know a lot about the Russian jazz scene generally, I'm afraid. I've heard a lot of the 1920's stuff put out when Stalin was trying to encourage the genre... after that my knowledge is a blank until the New Music (which wasn't really jazz at all, but only jazz venues would give it a stage) going on in the Leningrad underground music scene in the 1980s with Sergey Kuryohkin and "Industrial Department".
