Wow, my very own thread!  Can't say I've ever been welcomed like this before, thanks!

I registered here because I was trying to find out more about an old Radio 3 programme, Mixing It, which I used to listen to, and was pleased to find a huge long thread dedicated to it.  Anyone else here a fan?  I'm relieved that Late Junction has gone some way to fill the void.

You've obviously read the thread by now MM and seen the occasional contributions from Mark Russell re. any future Mixing It ventures. The hard core fans of the show are the names on that thread who pop in now and again but others have fairly eclectic tastes too.

Do you ever listen to Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone on 6Music on Sunday teatimes ? A bit of a mish mash but often strays into Mixing It territory.

No, I've not heard it.  Don't listen much to digital radio (other than Listen Again on BBC website) as there's something a bit less "radio" about it.  Perhaps being transmitted through the air is what makes audio broadcasting so magical.  But I will try to give it a listen.

And its nice of you to respond.  I suspect a number of new members are put off a bit by the fact quite a lot of us already know each other's online personalities and have met each other, so that our chat may appear cliquey to newcomers.  Please don't let that put you off.

Our interests and experience are varied, but one thing that never happens is for anyone to totally rubbish anyone else's enthusiasms, unlike the official Radio 3 board (usually referred to here as TOP -The Other Place.)

The moderators, voted in by a poll among members last autumn are Morticia, Ron Dough and Oliver Sudden (try saying the last two names quickly).  Good eggs, one and all.

I hope you enjoy contributing and reading here in future.

All the best.
