Not an expert, but an enthusiast for classical music, a bit of everything else, and have found that similar people have some of the best conversations and laughs about everything. So this looks a good place to pop into. Favourites tend to be 20th century big'uns like Ravel, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, VW. Least favourite - music played on sackbuts and other painful instruments from the late medieval period. Not keen on much contemporary classical, I'm afraid, but always keep an open mind. Currently trying to increase record collection and go to more concerts. Look forward to joining in. Cheers!  Cool

Hi prawn,

Consider yourself netted: there's plenty there to share in common with most of us - look forward to talking with you later.

Welcome prawn!

Very wisely you have posted quickly and are spared the poetic/lyrical welcomes suffered by mary who hasn't showed up yet - do you blame her?  Roll Eyes  Cheesy

Your CV sounds similar to quite a few of us. We rarely dwell on the actual output of Radio 3 but most do listen to some of the programmes and most of us do make musical discoveries on this forum. We are also, in the main, all best mates  Roll Eyes Tongue Cheesy

prawn,

Watch out for the 'What's that burning?' thread.  And ollie is an aussie, so don't get near him and a bar-b-q.

Otherwise, this place is (mostly) harmless!

Have a great time

Welcome prawn. Hope you enjoy it here.

But I'm sure Mort meant 'coming out of your shell' metaphorically rather than literally. Whelks maybe, for prawns ... unwise.
