Just joined. I've been on the R3 messageboards for a couple of years now so some people may recognise my name. I'm an amateur pianist now resident in Rio de Janeiro. I look forward to participating on these messageboards. Best Wishes to all Keybawd

Hello Keybawd. I can't do Brasilian Portugese, but I know a bloke who does. Enjoy your time here.

Yes, I remember: you're the fellow with the books signed by Benjamin Britten. Welcome!

Welcome, Bazilian Portugese? I can do that as well with a razor, For those that want it, for those that don't want it at all I can impersonate Hitler. Or kittens that look like Hitler. Called Kitler. Or Morrissey. Or Happy Mondays even? The Storey goes on.

Thank you for the welcome. Re the school library register with some 40 Britten signatures: the pages are now lodged in the Britten-Pears Archive in Aldeburgh. I took them there ten days ago during a brief visit to the UK. I'm now back in very wet Rio.

Kbawd - I remember reading about that at TOP (The Other Place, which is how folks here sometimes refer to the R3 boards). Interesting! So what persuaded you to donate them to A'burgh?

I still own the pages but they are on "permanent" loan to the Britten Archive. If they were worth thousands of pounds then I'd hawk them round the dealers, but since they are probably worth only a few hundred, it's hardly worth paying for a hotel in London and taking cabs here and there.
Ideally I would like someone to buy them on behalf of the Britten Archive. Most important, however, is that they are in the Red House and if they are interesting to researchers, they can consult them.
