I see we have a MrY with us: it might be a mystery, but I rather think it's actually the return of Mr Yorrick. Am I right?

In either case, welcome.

Looking at Mr Y's nickname (two Y's you are, two Y's you be...) it occurs to me that our newest member might be quite at home in the Isle of Man?

I keep on meaning to re-read Tristram Shandy.

If you are Mr Yorick, then welkom or bienvenue according to which bit of Belgium you come from.

Thank you all for your messages  Smiley.

Yes indeed, Ron, I'm MrYorick of late  Smiley.  I stopped posting after the hassle some months ago, but kept on lurking, and -seeing as I had some questions re certain topics discussed- decided to join again.

I really should read Hamlet once, just to get all the references to my nickname on here!

Kittybriton, I have nothing to do with the Isle of Man!  Took me some googling to understand the reference, still not sure if I'm getting it!  Learned something about the Manx language, though.

I'm at home in Belgium indeed, the bit where a 'welkom' is welcome, DonB  Wink.

It's genuinely a pleasure to see you back here MrY. Apart from the fact that the middle of the triskelion makes a Y-shape, the Manx motto "whichever way you throw me, I shall stand" applies, I think.

Thank you, Kittybriton, I like that motto very much!  Smiley

Good luck, DonB! Maybe I'll use this occasion to read Shandy (or Hamlet) as well - we'll see...  Kiss

I've just finished Book 1 of Shandy, including the death of Parson Yorick marked by the famous black blank page.

I don't find it laugh our loud funny, but once I've got used to it it is rather endearing.

Nothing else to do on the South coast.  Sterne published and wrote Shandy over some ten years, but I felt if I did not press on I would lose the plot.

Trying to polish off Dostoevsky's The Adolescent before resuming Sterne.
