Thanks for the greetings!

Silja was pretty amazing at Glyndebourne and I'm glad to have the DVD. Among others, I also saw Malfitano/Mackerras at the Met in 1999 - that was magnificently acted and sung, and the Met orchestra played like people possessed. And if you closed your eyes (thus able to ignore the hideous production), last time around at ENO with Cheryl Barker/Mackerras was tremendous.
