And it'll be SS's last time as director.
Really?

My friend Marko is here in spirit ...

Ah, the self-proclaimed Queen of Serbia! What's he up to these days?

This is true. But the powers that be will have to search high and low (mainly low) to find a less attractive personality, so I am cautiously optimistic.

Probably tanning himself. I'll ask him if he'll deign to send a few words of greeting from the Serbian throne (located in Stuttgart as it is these days).

I told him he'd been mentioned. He said:

"Darling, the only worse thing than being talked about is not being talked about at all."

Hello from the Queen of Serbia to all who remember him. Wink

A brief postscript to the "how many people on these boards are Schloss Solitude alumni?":

I've now spotted at least three r3okers on Facebook, which I joined last week (you'd have to know my real name to find me, though at least two of you have the same name there as on here) ...

This will have to be my last post for the next few weeks. I am going to be busy with moving house. If you need me, do send me an email at any time, or Facebook, or Skype. I will return about mid-August...

Even thereafter, I will generally be cutting back until at least the second week of September.

Until then, I am "now spinning" Shostakovich's op.87 Preludes and Fugues, they are nearly unbearable rubbish.

Ha a parting shot, I must confess it. I fear I breathe my last!

Promises I haven't forgotten: a Debussy Prelude appreciation, a Stockhausen Klavierstück X -egesis, and a contribution to the Carter thread. Plus, now, a justification of my judgment of Shosti op 87

Glad you don't think they're all bad : )
