Great session from Manu Dibango and a very informative interview. I
would call Manu a jazz musician in that his musicianship is universal.
I have to admit it took me a couple of goes to get the most out of
this session but it was well worth the effort. My favourite track
was 'Wachi Wara' as written by Dizzy Gillespie and Shanu Kozu. Andy
said the session was historic and I would agree.

My favourite from the rest of the programme was Baka Beyond and Baka
Gbine with 'Bunaka'.

Electric guitarist of the night goes to George Thorogood for his work
on 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer'.

Walter Ferguson what can I say, amazing. I'll be trying to track down
that album.

Balkan Beat Box were wonderful too.

See you next week!

Don't have much to say about Kershaw this week. But fans of his show might be interested in a programme on Radio 4 next Tuesday the 8th at 13.30 ( repeated the following Saturday ) A series called "Lost Albums", this edition has Mike Waterson, Martin Carthy and Ashley Hutchings talking about an album called "Bright Phoebus". Shunned by critics and audience alike apparently, must admit I have never heard of it.
