Thought I'd comment on this week's World Routes.

The Sufi musicians in the studio from Rajasthan in Western India were
quite extraordinary. Unfortunately I think they have not been recorded
yet. However I was moved to buy 'The Rough Guide to Sufi Music'.

Michael Church was there to talk about his latest projects 'Songs of
Survival' from Georgia and 'Songs of Defiance' from Chechnya. He spoke
intelligently and interestingly. Once again both are in my shopping
bag.

Charlie Gillett was also a guest talking about Ethiopian music and
playing a couple of choice tracks.

All in all well worth a listen I'd say.

I was out this afternoon watching cricket whs but I'll certainly record the programme from LA, as I usually do - I'm getting quite a collection on my hard drive.
