More undiluted pleasure from Lucy Duran.

In my notes I have so many superlatives I don't know where to start.

I must confess though that I'm developing a liking for Flamenco. The
song by Jose Merce entitled 'Aire' knocked me for six. I think that's
another album I'm going to have to buy.

One that's already on order is the Rough Guide to the Music of
Vietnam, and I must admit I enjoyed listening to Thu Hien even though
Lucy said there were moments of kitsch in it.

I'll just mention one more track: the final one by Liu Fang
entitled 'The Autumn Moon in the Palace of a Han Emporer' was
ravishingly beautiful.

whs - over and out!

Lucy's programmes have been very good but I wouldn't want her to replace AK - can't imagine her playing the Clash, for example.

She could however replace World Routes - yes I know she'd be replacing herself - but what I mean is that a World Routes programme more like what she's been doing in Andy's slot would be a great improvement.

On the evidence of this week's World Routes I'm tempted to agree with you Andy. I found the programme devoted to Indian Raags worthy but a little tedious. However when Lucy's programme offers more variety I think it's rather engaging.

If any of you enjoy AK's occasional forays into blues or gospel, I can thoroughly recommend this weeks's Radio 2 Paul Jones programme which is entirely devoted to an interview and music from Mavis Staples. Available on listen again etc.
