ohhbullybully09's thread on the Music Matters board http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio3/F6643900?thread=3904978 entitled "Andy Kershaw" has been closed for being off-topic. We knew this was the case, but it's now confirmed that we can't post about AK on any of the new boards.

In their usual courteous way, the host who closed it hasn't deigned to answer the question in the first post ie "Where do I have to go to if I want to discuss topics related to Andy Kershaw."

You are right, the changes to the Radio 3 message board do limit which programmes you can talk about. This does not rule out the addition of new topics in the future, but for the time being I'm afraid that posts about other programmes will be considered off topic.

In response to Anna, while Music Matters can only cover a relatively small number of items on each programme, you are welcome to post here about topics that might fall within the scope of the programme. As you may have seen, Tom Service has already posted a thread about whether classical music is 'dying'.

Best wishes

Chris

and he/she's now apologised for not answering the question in the first place before closing the thread.

So at last they've come clean about the new message board order, beats all this mealy-mouthed hypocrisy about more consultation with us the listeners.

yeah but if you fancy some off-topic stealth posting  you can currently use this place

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio3/F6390173?thread=3924060

as the moderators seem to be ignoring the board at the moment.

And AK plays a lot of Tchaikovsky don't he? Grin

AK fans might enjoy a programme that was tucked away on R4 today, Ronnie's Last Show. About Ronnie Hawkins, an anecdote rich half hour. Available on listen again or repeated on Saturday.
