Well spring is nearly with us and already there are new shoots showing.

Quality programme tonight with lots to admire.

Unlike Andy I find the new material from Tinariwen a bit hit and miss.

I thought the live recording of Akli D was a bit variable too.

Track of the night for me was 'Diddie Wah Diddie' by Blind Blake.

A close second was Robert Harbron and Emma Reid with their folk medley.

Third was the Earl Brothers with 'Broken Motor'.

Lisa Knapp I'm not sure about. She reminds me a bit of Sandy Denny from the 'Liege and Lief' period. I look forward to finding out more about her in next week's spotlight artist session.

That's all folks!

Hi whs,

Blind Blake was the highlight for me too.

If you want to listen again, download it from http://files.ww.com/files/29003.html

23:08 However I've now discovered you can get a much better version from http://www.archive.org/details/Blind_Blake-Diddie_Wa_Diddie - so I completely wasted my time recording it from LA then uploading it to ww.com  Sad

Yep, I'll third the endorsement of Blind Blake. And as I mentioned last week, Tinariwen are beginning to leave me a bit cold. A bit of a one trick pony.
