Not sure which is the best sub-forum to post this in, but wanted to draw all of your attention to a site where you can view online scores of most of the standard repertory (all in the public domain, so no problems in that respect) - http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/variations/scores/ . Such things as Berlioz Les Troyens or Schumann Genoveva are available there - a great resource.

Yes, thanks Ian. Some Villa-Lobos I've not seen before.

Many thanks Ian - a very handy resource (particularly as most of my scores are in storage at the moment!)

Not quite the same but the Choral Public Domain Library gives access to a wide range of resources, some scans of editions which have fallen into the public domain, others freshly created editions of PD music which have themselves been placed in the Public domain by the editor. Also for Bach, try http://www.bach-cantatas.com/IndexScores.htm, as the url suggests there are scores of all the cantatas, but at east some other works are there too.

Cannot lay my hands immediately on the link, but recently on the main R3 board someone posted up the complete Mozart scores website.
Anyone have it to hand?
Is there one for the Haydn symphonies? (he whispers, hopefully) ?

Before I try clicking on any of those sites, may I ask - do I need to have something particular on the computer such as Java before they will appear?

You would probably need to have Acrobat Reader, SD.
