Actually I'm a great admirer of Kayn's electronic music.
If I'm honest, I'd never heard of him until this evening. We don't have any recordings in the library. Got any particular recommendations?

"'Ere" scrabbled Stoat at Badger's waistcoast, "did you see hh loved our earthworms?"
"How did you get up North amd back?"
"Easy, I just put on me toothiest grin and the lights from the passing vehicles reflected me knashers into the sky where they was picked up by Jock, a HGV driver from Old Reekie"
"Ahem" opined Badger, "and what did Jock offer you in return?"
"Nothing! But we zoomed anti-clockwise round the M25 with The Virgin Prunes blasting out. Magic it was, Magic!!"
"And it was hh you delivered the earthworms to?"
With that Stoat dissolved into uncontrollable giggles "Oh Badger, you know what a tease I am!"

Badger delivered a stern gaze over his half-moon spectacles at the giggling Stoat.
`Teasing is not a matter to be taken lightly, young Stoat` he said sternly. `All kinds of Most Unfortunate Occurances can, ahem, occur. Most unfortunate. Indeed there was once that sorry business with the monitor lizard and the ant eater but ... no, you are too young to hear such things`. Badger shook his head sadly and gazed into the distance.
`Perhaps you might care to nibble on a few earwigs lightly dusted with ground cumin seeds. Very good at soothing memories of the sad past` suggested Stoat.
Badger sighed heavily. `I fear the memories may not be assuaged by a handful of earwigs but .... well, maybe just one or two`.
Stoat scuttled off to the kitchen .....

Stoat scuttled off to the kitchen and came back with an earthworm warm salad lightly dressed with rocket, piri-piri and olives, accompanied by cheesy garlic bread.
"How werry, werry tasty" said Badger "but what is that awful noise?"
"Joy Division innit? came the reply
"Oh Stoat are you regressing into your Gothic phase?"
"Might be" replied Stoat, sullenly, painting her toe nails black

If I'm honest, I'd never heard of him until this evening. We don't have any recordings in the library. Got any particular recommendations? In the context of his work in general, the Cybernetics pieces come over as somewhat untypical, containing as they do various recognisable "concrete" sounds and a relatively high rate of change. I'm very impressed with Tektra, which consists of infinitesimally-shifting planes of sound, a little (but only a little, this is just to give you a clue) reminiscent of what Ligeti's Atmosphères would be like if it were stretched to a duration of five hours. Tektra was composed in the 1980s and I haven't heard anything more recent, although since then his output has accelerated massively - probably because the "cybernetic" systems he was previously setting up with highly complex analogue electronics can be done much more easily now that computers with the necessary power are readily available. If you ever did want some depressing electroacoustic music I'd recommend the work of Akos Rozmann.

Sorry A and all, being flippant, it's this Alien Sex Fiend/Fields of the Nephilim I am listening to, typical R3 listener, head in the clouds!
Teenage years, gosh, mine were dreadful, hormones all over the shop, sex, drugs and rock n' roll. Not what you want to hear I expect. BUT, did you see that programme tonight on BBC 2? - the Zimmers?
How disgraceful was that - the way we treat old people? And how they belted out the Who "My Generation" - well, not sure what charity it goes to, Help the Aged I suppose, but I'll buy it, might never play it more than a few times, but it's the principle isn't it? I don't think a programme has made me so angry for a long while
One of these days we'll all be toothless and falling over in Nursing Homes and no-one will give a s*** about us.

'Werry, werry tasty'-Badger-cousin of Bryan Walden innit? Stoat's lineage I can't yet discern-can you enlighten us pls? M25 wildlife news is a vital service, thanks Anna. It should ideally replace the traffic news altogether.

It's not easy to sleep here. Torrential rain and thunder since 5 a.m., and freezing cold. I've got the electric blanket on (I'm still in bed).
T-p, I hope your hard day goes well.

I am getting ready to go. I have not been outside, but it is sunny. I did not sleep too well even with no rain, but I slept. It is nice to have electric blanket. When the weather is bad I usually think: How lucky that I am inside in a dry place. Deep inside I am afraid of being homeless. My mother tells me that even if you are not sleeping, but are in bed you are already resting.
