Actually no, we've never met yet.

I would like to make a proposal for some time in the not-too-distant future - would like to invite a load of you posters from here over to East Croydon, go and have blissful drinks in my very nice local, The Glamorgan, then go to the Indian Restaurant round the corner from me, The Banana Leaf, which my (Indian-born) lodger reckons is one of only five or six decent Indian places in the whole of London!

(and if it's a Friday, we can survey the locals 'out on the town' as well? Wink )

Count me in.  Smiley

OK - I propose Friday 29th June or 6th July - how are those for anyone?

Friday 29th June is good, if only cos it'd be the last opportunity to smoke in a pub!  Grin

YES!!!!!! All smokers should come along and we should smoke and smoke and smoke!!!! All others who don't like it - on that particular night, tough luck, you've got it your way afterwards!

Sounds good to me! And East Croydon is even quite easy in terms of trains for me and martle.

I once had a lovely steak in a very good restaurant in Croydon. Wish I could remember the name of the place. French place, on Croydon High Street somewhere?

Um, not intentional, martle! Embarrassed Maybe I should have explained that we're in opposite directions from said station.

So do we reckon we can get all the smokers together in Croydon before the end of June?!

PS I must say though, your new avatar is very fetching ...

There is, notwithstanding my move Norf, something about Croydon-Ian's comments put me in mind of an all-too-brief liason there last year. I will try and pop down -sine the train skirts the battle-scarred hinterlands-and perhaps revisit  cigar-fuming for the occasion.

There is always a little sadness in moving, but a lot of happiness. Off with an old on with a new (who said that?).
I was cleaning the house and was grumpy, but now I am finished.

Nicely put, t-p. From my experience among many this area can be far far worse than 'sad',but as you say, onward and upward, and I'm glad your day has started happily Wink

Grrr. I am a seriously Grumpy Old Woman today. I can`t go to the Richard/Ollie concert tonight because I have another bluddy kidney infection and a raging temperature that won`t go down. I was looking forward to it and seeing people again. Grrrrrrrr.  AND  I`ve just noticed that the 5 chilli plants that I potted up earlier this week have been completely slugged. There aren`t even any stalks left.  And they`ve nobbled my Nemesia! ARGGHHHHH!!

Grump, rant, grump, mutter, mutter .......

Oh poor Mort. I am sorry. Bluddy funny things kidneys and bluddy, bluddy miserable when they go wrong. Waves of good wishes for an early recovery will be coming your way from the Shoreditch and no doubt other areas this evening.

Waves of good wishes from me too. It makes waves big and strong.
I can not go to Richard's concert. I am too far. So we are in the same situation.

However, I went for a walk and neighbors (travelers) have a dog. I give him milk sometimes (when they are here). It is hard to know who lives there. They rent the house.
The dog is big and nice. He went with me for a walk and kept me company. I gave him cat's dry food in addition to milk
We will make ourselves comfortable at home, won't we, Morticiaa?
If one can not go one can not go. Kidney infection sounds like serious illness and one has to heal completely.
They will tell us after the concert how it went on, I hope.
