I am toasty warm, have had wonderful meal of prime Welsh Aberdeen Angus beef ... slow cooked in Guinness with onions and carrots. watcbed Pique Dame and all is right with the world. Happy and contented sigh.
Only one thing needed now, then, Anna, innit? I have no idea to what you are referring to Simon, innit? I presume you mean listening to some Frank Zappa? I rather assumed he was referring to the post-prandial practice of plunging one's head into a bowl of one's own urine.

If you'd just let me know what general area of the country you are from, inky, I'll take care to refuse any dinner invitations from within a healthy radius...

Nowt much wrong with what little Zappa I've heard, Anna, though it's a bit B4 my time - but actually I was thinking more along the lines of a saintly cormorant. But you knew that. x

hh, What on earth have you been doing to make your mits assume a canine aroma? The mind boggles slightly (unless you went OTT last night, and it's from desperate grabbing at each one that passes in the vain hope of retrieving a morsel of fur to alleviate any side effects today ). I did go OTT last night (that message I sent you at 7am was when I just got in) but slept all morning and felt ok when I eventually rose from my coffin. The dog belongs to a friend with whom I was walking, and it sat on my lap to and from the walk (and was a bit frisky so needed to be calmed).

That's a relief. At least, it's a relief unless you happen to drop by on the one night of the year...

Golly! And what do you do when you get frisky and don't have a dog in your proximity?

Saintly cormorant Simon? Now you have lost me, or are you referring to Paradise Lost? Or even King Kennytone?

Try Ocado (Waitrose), Milly. Total efficiency has been my experience. I gave up on Tesco's online service some time ago (though it may well have improved since then), but I still use the shop.
I seem to have had this conversation rather often with a lot of people!
I have registered with Ocado now, but my main grump is that I can't get into the Tesco website and I've got quite a few "money off" vouchers to redeem. I can go to the store itself and spend them but it's a long way from home. I've managed to get in to the website right up to checking out but each page takes at least 10 minutes to come up and it hasn't let me finish the checkout procedure. So annoying! Once I've redeemed these vouchers, I'll use Ocado. My daughter-in-law has used them and said they're very good.

Oh, that's annoying, Milly.
It's dark and cold, and I'm only just beginning to get warm. Unlike Milly, I don't keep the heating on at night. I still prefer it to summer. It's easier to get warm than it is to get cool.
