Mort,
http://www.bmd-certificates.co.uk/articles/somerset-house.html

You should be able to order a death certificate re. your brother, online from here.

Just send what details you do have and they ought to be able to sort it out for you.  You presumably know the date and the fact that it is Norfolk.  I'm sure they will be able to help.

Thanks for that Milly. I suspect my posting may have been a bit inappropriiate, but I rather feel at my wits end. I will now attempt to remove it. Many thanks though

A rant about Red Tape and the unlistening,  stone facedness of banks.

I contacted my mother`s bank today to let them know she had died.
For what it's worth, you have my heartfelt sympathy Morticiaa. Of all institutions banks do seem to be the least compassionate. Under the circumstances a little more flexibility and leniency would go a long way.

(Having trouble understanding why banks charge an overdrawn account. If the money was available, it would not have been overdrawn to begin with).

Missed the original post from Mort but sort of picked up the drift. Grrrr....silly bankers.

In the meantime however I have spent an hour staring at this from the link that Milly gave......

Quote
Somerset House (sometimes misspelled as Somerset House,......)

...and I'm not going to let it beat me. I'll work it out eventually.

Not your `Oops` Milly, that of Somerset/Summerset/Sommerset House. Still, Somerset House is at Kew Gardens Station now. No wonder they`re confused! Grin

I realised it wasn't my "oops" - I'm just in an extremely silly mood tonight having won an inordinately large sum of money playing cards (well 22p..)  and I just wanted to show in pictures what I thought of Somerset House - or is it Summersett, or Summerzet, or Somorset..... Grin

P.S.  22p may not sound very much to you, but if you consider that we play for 1p per 100 points, you can see that I did rather well in the amount of points I got.

Hello again! Thanks so much for all your kind sympathy. At least the insurance people aren't quibbling. I am much more relaxed now - just get nervous about then time it happened each night. I'm back on friend's computer - am waiting for son to come from London to help me choose a new one (next week). The police said there hadn't been any burglaries for a long time in our area and I was just very unlucky - all security was correct but if they want to get in, they will.

Mary,

I`m glad you`re feeling rather more relaxed. Hopefully the nighttime anxiety will lessen as time passes. I suspect most of us would be feeling the same.

In the meantime, happy computer shopping!

Seconded all of that. Just one word of warning - when computer shopping, keep off Packard Bell laptops!
