Any chance you could bring some 'native' dancers back with you, Mills? (He requests laddishly....)

I've got to get used to this temperature! We're going to Lapland on Sunday! Much colder there.... And even fewer hours of daylight. Have a good time in the cold and the dark!

Let's hope that no Atlantic depression tracks to the south of the high, that often produces snow, especially in the E & SE.
Is snow a bad thing, then? If it weren't for the fact that London public transport descends into utter chaos at the first sign of a snowflake, I'd welcome it Indeed, I can walk to and from work if I have to, so perhaps I'd welcome it anyway. If I lived somewhere remote and had to drive to work, I wouldn't be so keen. Perhaps you come into that category.

We're going to visit Santa, Mary! I'm sure that with his magical prowess he'll manage to light the place up a bit. Going for 3 nights - it looks fantastic. Reindeer safaris, husky sled rides, snow sports, visiting the elf toy factory - Santa visiting on last night after dinner with a special present for every child...I love the snow and the cold if it's crisp and sparkly and clear. Dark doesn't bother me either. I prefer it here when it's dark at 4 o'clock and everything is lit up and cosy. I wanted to give the child a present he'd never forget this Christmas while he still believes in the magic of it all. He has no idea where we're going. I've just told him "mystery trip". I just want to see his eyes light up when he finally realises.

With a bit of luck I'll post some pics. Wait till you see my new multi-coloured brightly striped Noddy hat! I'm going to sew a bell on the end... (Oh dear I suppose I'll have to grow up one day but I really don't want to. )

Wow! That sounds like a perfect Christmas adventure Milly! I hope all goes smoothly (am sure it will) and remember: Old People are just Children Who Forgot How To Play.

Old People are just Children Who Forgot How To Play. That's looking perilously close to the debut of yet another viola joke, Kitty....

This is only a mini-grump really, but it drove me nuts at the time. At work today I had a particularly anxious and very poorly chap to see. Things were going well, he was starting to relax and there was a lovely peaceful atmosphere in the patient bay. Until ..... a nurse clattered in and plugged in a CD machine, "Some music will be nice, won`t it?" she said chirpily. Muffled growls from Mort. There followed three screechy songs from Eva Cassidy. I`m afraid that, to me, her voice has a similar effect to hearing fingernails run down a blackboard. Worse was to come. Then came Il bluddy Divo singing `Unchained Melody" ARGGHHHH!! I couldn`t just stop the treatment and hurl the machine out of the window, although the compulsion to do precisely that was extremely strong My dislike aside, the patient didn`t like it either, as he mentioned afterwards. He described it as "a racket". I don`t `do` music, whale songs or birds tweeting against a background of a waterfall. It`s often intrusive and can inhibit patients from talking. Grrrrr.

Looks like it, Kitty It would have been a different matter if I had been in a side room. I put up a Do Not Disturb Sign. Mind you, even then some prazzock often comes crashing in with a hoover or the menu for the next day. Sigh.
