Yes of course. No wonder they call me stupid. Andy Kershaw I meant, not Ian MacMillan. Too many alcoholic mince pies I'm afraid.

Just booked online for the cinema tomorrow morning - me plus 5 kids so couldn't risk it being sold out - and now I've checked my booking conformation it says I haven't booked. Grrrrr. I'd double checked date, time, venue, card number etc as I went along and it let me do everything. Now if I try again I might end up paying twice. Anyone else had similar problems? It's a cineworld cinema to see Bee Movie. Didn't want to have to go really early as we'll get bored waiting. Now I'm worse off than not having tried to book at all.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Could be a cookie problem MJ? Have you looked at your credit card online to see if it's appeared there?
Another idea: not all websites work with Firefox - if you're using that you could try IE to see if that's any better.

Yes. No, it hasn't. Another idea: not all websites work with Firefox - if you're using that you could try IE to see if that's any better.
Thanks for the suggestion but I'll just go early tomorrow and buy tickets. That'll save me the extortionate £3.55 online booking fee!

Oh bugler with knobs on! A lens fell out of my specs and despite much scrabbling around on my hands and knees, peering intently at the carpet, I cannot find the wretched thing. I `phoned the optician to be told it will take 7 to 10 working days to get a new pair. ARGGHHHHH! Bugler, bugler, bugler!

That is bugler bugler, butler, Morticia. Some wood fall from frame in our roof. Recent storm tore it off the house. Now we have to find some one to fix it.
Somehow these things pass and things are back to normal. I hope you don't drive, Morticia, that would be dangerous. I have two pairs of glasses that I got during promotion in Specks.

Fortunately tp, I don`t drive. But a Mort at large without specs probably constitutes a public health hazard ! My eyesight is appalling

It can't be far Mort, if the lens has dropped out in your home. Do you have a torch you could shine about? It might be easier to see something that reflects. I only need specs for reading small print but always carry those little tubes of reading specs you can buy really cheaply. You can get them different "strengths". I bought mine from a chemist but I think you can get them anywhere now. If you could make it to a shop for one of those, you'd be able to see your lens when you got home perhaps?

This is Milly, my close-up vision is ok, it`s distance that`s the problem. Anyway I have now been to Spec Savers and come out a £145 poorer At least I have my contacts so I don`t have to be completely blind, but they`re not great for working at the computer. Sigh. The new specs will be green!! I think I had a brainstorm as a result of Missing Lens Trauma

One reason I've never gone for lenses, plus I'm a wimp and couldn't go through the initial irritation I'm short-sighted too and settled for varifocal glasses which are great outside and when you go in a shop and need to look at things close. Also for driving, see long distance and glance down at the radio or speedo and they are in focus! And for watching TV and then looking down at your dinner
