Oh I see! Took me a while, that one ... Yes I was puzzled too. I thought that Mr. and Mrs. BBM might possibly look like a couple of kids.....

So how much time did you have to make up!?! If it was more than 50 minutes you've done well out of the deal ...
If I finished work by 6.35 on a regular basis I'd feel like my life had gone through some kind of major overhaul!
Sorry Tinners, been busy again - i only owed half and hour!

I'd love to work a 35-hour week. I'd stop some time on Wednesday evening.

B****rds, B****rds, B****rds!
I parked at a station today at 11.55am. I used a call thing to pay my parking charge. It all worked and I thought I was legally parked.
I got back to my car and had a ticket. The ticket was issued at 12.10pm, a good 10 or 15 minutes after I called 'Ringo' to ay my parking charge. But worse still, the attendant said he had seen my car parked at 11.20am. A LIE! I have proof that I wasn't at the station.
That's fraud isn't it?
So, should I fine them?

If you can, do it.
I have a mini grump. You know when you've been assuming that list a is correct, and someone else is insisting that it isn't... So I asked them to provide me with list b. They spend two days not providing it. They are getting round to doing it, but they have a lot to do. OK. Finally list b arrives. And you're working on it. And they look over your shoulder and say that it isn't right. You ask them if list a is right and they say yes. And you're up at 1am trying to sort tutorial groups out...

Everybody works with some muppets. When I'm working for a firm I insist on having my own office and to work just by myself on my own initiative. I've never been a team player. Other people always cock everything up, I find. There's nothing more infuriating than being passed half a job that's to be completed and you find it's all wrong - or you do half the job and hand it over to be finished off and they make a Henry Halls of it. If you want something doing, do it yourself, I've always found.

I like playing with other people (if you get alone with them which is not always the case). It is good to do things by myself (solo playing) but too much pressure and stress. If I am playing with someone things are not done the way I thought I would play it. But probably my playing make some changes in the other person playing too. The result is that I can change my opinion and think that I was wrong, or that it could be done both ways and there are other ways too or some other thought may come in to my head. For me coloboration is mostly useful even if it is not a good partnership. I usually learn a lot.
About parking problems I usually don't argue. I pay whatever they say and come home upset.

Tommo, I'd be inclined to take that further. If you've proof you weren't at the station when El Creepo says that you were, produce it and tell them to take their fine and <insert insult reasoned comment of choice here> B*****ds!

If you're a musician and indeed in most professions, you have no choice but to work with other people and in your case as a teacher and performer, it is vital. I'm fortunate that I can make the choice.

Would that be the big Station Car Park at Reading, by any chance? If so, and it's still run by APCO, then I'd definitely take it up with them. Been there, done that....

Unfortunately, in my case, I dont have a choice either. When I am working(!), I'm usually in a healthcare envoirement of one sort or other, so Hobson's Choice really!
Have a go at'em(APCO that is). the fraudulent b******s!!!

I also saw how people in other professions coloborate. Sometimes one doesn't have knowledge in some area and knows something else. One can add and develop the idea of the first scientist.
It is difficult to coloborate, but it is possible. I know even people in literature coloborated or gave feed back to each other. For example Russian writers Ilf and Petrov (twelve chairs). In literature people don't coloborate that often, but in music it happens often. It can be very frustrating experience too. Much depend on personalities. I know some people who look for people they can coloborate with and I know people who prefer to do the whole work alone. If one coloborates one can do more (sometimes) which is important if one is to keep the job in academia now. But don't let me talk about academic environment please.
