Störmeldelampe. Smiley
I was trying to read that as a two-part compound word for a while, thinking that a 'Störmel' was a little storm in Rheinländisch. But then I couldn't identify what a 'delampe' is.

That's not good BBM, with your asthma you don't need a smoker in the house.  However, they have only met for the first time and it doesn't mean this will be a permanent relationship does it?  Best to see if it is going to develop into anything before moving.

Oddly enough, I had exactly the same puzzled reaction until it sank in that it was three words.

Oh dear, BBM, that sounds annoying.  Is he a lodger then, or do you house share?

Like Anty says though - it's early days.  See what happens.  Maybe you should wander round pointedly with your inhaler when she comes back inside from 'avin' a faaaag...  Grin

BBM, if she only smoked outside (and By 'Eck Gladys she must be hardy to go outside in this weather) that would not affect your asthma would it?

These Internet romances, it could very well just be a one night stand so you may not need to worry too much.  Although having said that I know someone here who hooked up via the Net with someone in Devon and landed up marrying him!

Am I the only one (as one says) who hates Home Delivery Network Limited?

You are not alone.
They provide a truly terrible service.

Yeah true I know. its the way my friend handled it, was the real reason for our annoyance. MrsBBM is incensced by how he did it! He is smitten with her. All depends how it goes from here. She is in the next room and I dont think his daughters liked it very much, the younger one especially. He admits, however, it might not work, so i hope he is thinking practically and objectively.

I used to find that the smell of people's clothes after they had been smoking still created a reaction (though I don't know if that was psycho-somatic or not) just as certain aftershaves or perfumes did. Last night I went to a house-warming party and some of the guests were smoking out of the window. This morning my jeans smell. Sad

This morning my jeans smell. Sad

When I used to smoke (OK, OK, when I used to smoke regularly and not just at r3ok meetups and a couple of other special occasions) I would sometimes be quite shocked at how my clothes would smell the morning after a night out. I guess that would have been the only time my sense of smell was in something like full working order.  Roll Eyes Nowadays it often amazes me how much more acute my senses of smell and taste are. The downside to this is that I begin to notice what a lot of semiputrid human beings walk the earth.
