Delighted to have spotted Cecilia Bartoli's Vivaldi concert on the SkyArts schedule, which I set to record early this morning. Accompanied by Il Giardino Armonico, this show will likely feature much of what was on Bartoli's very succesfull Decca album of rare Vivaldi arias, 1999, and indeed the first aria I have just checked is Di due rai anguir costante with two recorder players (or authentic flageolet?) looking like naughty schoolboys bobbing around at the back  Cheesy

Two hours at once will be a bit heavy going, so I will sample this in parts, it will be Vivaldi at his most extravagant coloratura, though Bartoli handles it very well on the CD. I expect the programme will be on again during the last week of Sepember.
