Changes in nature of funding are inevitable. However, what Mr Bazalgette doesn't take into account is the notion of 'universal access' that was integral to the notion of public service broadcasting at its inception. Sure, the internet will provide us with more and more of our entertainment and information, but unless we adopt an Estonian-style broadband for all policy, there will be a digital divide.

True, although the price differential between the upper end of DAB radios and the lower end of desktop pcs isn't enormous.
