Well...it was 1935

Browsing through the Radio Times for next week, I was pleased to see that Noel Coward's poetry will be discussed and read by Anna Massey, Imogen Stubbs and Alistair McGowan on Radio 4; 16.30 hrs, Sunday, 24 August.

A few months ago, I quoted one of his darker poems, 'I'm No Good At Love' during Coward's stint as Composer of the Week.   I saw this poem in my copy of 'Not Yet the Dodo and Other Verses' (1967) Heinemann, although I haven't seen it on shop bookshelves for many years.  The Radio Times blurb, pp114, talks about his 'profoundly melancholic spirit' and I trust that the programme will cover these aspects as well as his witty writing.
