Ah, didn't see yours, tonybob. I must have been posted while I was searching for somewhere from which to copy and paste his name. Wink They may all fit on a single CD, but that goes for Webern's efforts in this field, too. The latter wrote around 7 works for the medium IIRC.

Yeh, but it's all that toggling back and forth of Fn+F11 on this laptop to access the NumLk keys. Sometimes it's easier to just copy and paste. Wink

Simpson, Maconchy, Kevin Volans and, if you don't require there to be 6, Feldman, Schnittke, Gorecki.

Quite a few of those mentioned have at least been recorded, although perhaps the most inacessible of them all in both recorded and performed form are the van Dieren, the first of which was admired by Schönberg.

I've heard hardly very few by any of the composers I've mentioned (hence the enquiry - the list didn't try to be exhaustive) - except for van Dieren's 1st which I know quite well. It's long and pretty way out, even for 1912. I'll report at greater length on the van Dieren thread some time.
I presume that you must have heard what is probably its only known outing so far, which was not even a public performance but a broadcast by the now-defunct Gabrieli Quartet...

Best,

Alistair

That's the one! Some sources say it was performed in Berlin in 1912, but I find that unbelievable.

That's because you have an English keyboard, unlike Ollie and myself who have German ones (with special keys for ö ü ä and the positions of the Z and Y keys exchanged).
