I was trying to play my favourite bit to a friend (several sequences of increasing ascendence (9 notes up, 7 down) that peak at a rather heart wrenching chord - sorry I can't name any of them - I don't even know what key it's in!!) but it just served to remind me how much I dislike my recording and I stopped looking before I found it.

I had thought that it was in Juliet's death but didn't find it there (what an oddly poetic sentence.)

Is it perhaps in Romeo at Juliet's Grave? That's the bit your description most calls to mind. That's not actually The Death of Juliet but of course it's easy to get them mixed up. Just ask Romeo.  Roll Eyes
Found it at the weekend (finally got round to looking properly.)  It's called "Juliet's funeral" on my current recording, so that may well be the section you refer to.  The reason I've been missing it is that it's got about a minute of very high tremolo on the strings that was cut from the recording I've lost (the one I know best), so I was skimming past it.  I'm still finding it too rushed about 4 mins in (it's a funeral!) and very much looking forward to Sir Previn dropping onto my doormat (so to speak).

By way of an update, the Previn CD finally turned up last night. Impatiently I went straight to Juliet's funeral (the track rather than the event) since that was the critical one.

It is pretty slow-paced isn't it? - possibly even slower than the recording I've lost, although interestingly the 2 up and down bits (sorry - still a useless description) are still much faster than my original recording, which suggests to me now that they're meant to be fairly snappy.  Fortunately it slows down again for the bit I love and I actually applauded after the crucial 2 notes.

So anyway I'm happy.  Thanks to all for your help and recommendations.  Smiley
