Susan Doris -
In case you haven't changed the avatar -
I always have to open two windows to do it.
Just press the link in my message and another window should open. (You can move between the two pages using the tabs at the top of the page.)
In the original window, click on Profile at the top of the page. Then click Forum Profile Information in the box on the left of the page.
Then go to the Photobucket page. Place you mouse over the second box under the image of your shoes, block the text and copy it (Ctrl C).
Then go back to your profile page. Click the "I have my own picture" button. Place you mouse over the box to the right of the button and paste the copied text (press Ctrl V).
Then press "Change Profile" at the bottom right of the page. All should now be well.
Good luck, if you have not done it already.

The Lost Cord
The snow was piled up to the windows And Grannie was turning blue When my love rolled into the living-room And told me what to do!
You'd better get out to the woodpile And bring in a few more logs And while your at it, some frozen meat, And the last pack of hot dogs.
So out went I in great big boots (no, "BOOTS" I said, you nit!) Thick gloves and a great big overcoat (You have to have the kit)
But when I reached the woodshed My heart sank to my BOOTS (see?) For somebody'd taken the whole darn lot And never gave two hoots (or hoons)
...

Don Basilio and John W Thank you for replacing the tap shoes, John W. Don B - Thank you for the step-by-step instructions which I printed out. My next-door neighbour has just been in and read them out to me while I found the right places on the screen and also looked at the information you mentioned, John W. ahinton and kittybriton That 'Lost Chord' does rather lend itself to comedy, doesn't it, even if the circumstances of its composition were sad.

How do you get avatars on to your screen?? Ive forgotten how to do mine. I am an avid Lord of the rings fan, and I really want to have one of those pictures.

BBM - this entire thread is full of advice on how to do this (with the usual flights of fancy and hallucinogenic diversions) and it's really worth reading from the start.

bbm - Susan Doris seems to have understood my untechnical account a few messages back. You need to place an image on Photobucket or Flickr first.
I wait to see your visual self expression.

I have to demur slightly here, as although I looked at the instructions with Carole-next-door's help and found the appropriate places on the screen, I didn't actually do the change, as John W had kindly done it for me!

I always have to open two windows to do it.
Is that really necessary, especially in this weather?

Thank you. I'd like to claim that I spent hours looking for it but I stumbled upon it while idly googling. It's Blake's Albion Rose, which doesn't seem to be associated with any particular poem (but is obviously connected to his mythology). The figure of Albion, a personification of humanity and of Britain, is freeing himself from the shackles of materialism. It accompanies a fragment of poetry: Albion rose from where he labourd at the Mill with Slaves / Giving himself for the Nations he danc'd the dance of Eternal Death
