Did this Graupner bug fellow write any good music? I hear he was supposed to have the job at Leipsic that went to JS Bach!

Hey, and didn't he actually write that solo cantata "Mein Herze schwimmt in Blut" that was attributed to Bach until recently?

Did they name a certain grain after him or vice versa?

 Shocked  Is this really so? Well dang me!! I hadn't heard that before. Is this hot off the press stuff or had it just passed me by?

(Mind you, it's, ahem, obvious really. I can't imagine how anyone could ever have thought it was genuine Bach. Completely unlike anything else he'd ever written as, <cough>, I've always said.)

My goodness me. Two Graupner threads.

Er, CD, are you suggesting Graupner actually wrote the BWV 199 one? Only thing is, there seems to have been a concert recently where they performed both a Bach and a Graupner version and if they were the same that would be a bit oddish...

For the record, my Graupner thread may stink, but I was first.

Okay, re Mein Herze: I was passing on a misunderstanding that was passed on to me, so I withdraw pending further research. Please somebody ignore this thread and go to the other one.
