With respect Ian, when the moderation team took the unpopular stance that politics was a banned subject, (both times, but the silly party issue is unarguable) you argued adamantly that it was wrong to do so.  If that isn't an example of pusing the point even though a subject is banned, I do not know what is.
Well, also with respect, I think that in the 'Politics Thread' thread (which I would check had it not been removed) I made a few posts and then exited - many others argued adamantly that it was a wrong decision. It is your board, of course, I know, and I don't dispute the forbidding of links to things associated with a far right party (that has not been contested for ages and ages, why is it always brought up again?). But talking about whether a subject can be discussed or not is not the same as talking about the subject. My argument was not so much about whether politics can be discussed as whether this was really about only certain types of politics being acceptable. Now if you want to say that far left views are unacceptable, like far right ones, then fair enough, and I would exit immediately. But it might be good to clarify that.

Now I won't post more if people will stop personal attacks (it says in the rules that these are forbidden, but that is one rule rarely enforced). Anyone else would feel entitled to defend themselves in the light of those, I reckon.

Can this please just stop now?

Please, before this whole board crumbles beneath us. This is not constructive.

Ian,

As what appears to be the sole moderator at present, I am not going to formulate my reply here, but will PM you instead.  If you want to post it here then that is your decision.

Everyone else, please, for the sake of things, do not continue this discussion.
