In the post today was Europadisc's June 2007 List. On spread 8 is the following:

"88697 103112 Stravinsky Re-issue of complete Stravinsky stereo recoerinds box set (originally LPs) 22 CD Stravinsky etc  £25.95"

I plan to 'phone them on Monday for confirmation or denial. I already have the earlier issue, but others might be interested.

Huh! I paid around £100 a few years ago, and I remain very happy to have had the opportunity to listen to them during that time. Indeed, of a fair few of them I have spares, as I got some when they first appeared on CD as separate issues.

I've tried Googling for the catalogue number, but without success.

I see on the JPC website that it will be available from the fifteenth of June.

For 40 euros, that's about 27 pounds.

I suppose it's a bit pricey really, compared to the Sony/Warner 60 CD Beethoven set. Wink

For those who no longer bother with the BBC's own Radio 3 boards, I would mention that dave2002 has drawn attention to an editing problem with previous CD releases of the Charles Rosen/Columbia Symphony Ochestra/Stravinsky recording of the "Movements for Piano and Orchestra". A repeat of about 24" duration is missing from the CD issues (it's there on the original LP version. My guess is that Sony will not have bothered to sort it out for the re-issue. Let's hope I'm wrong about that.

HMV in Edinburgh had it in stock yesterday for £22. Very tempted, but since I already have the previous LP and CD incarnations, I'll hold back unless anyone can confirm that they've been remastered...

Ron, I'm almost tempted to order at my local HMV at that price, then, if they have failed to restore the section missing from the earlier CD issues, take it back as faulty. Since the original LP version of Movements was complete, I don't think they'd have a leg to stand on.

Amazon.de: a smidge under €30. Posted yesterday, so they say.

Bryn, what's the right length for the Movements?
