Gosh Ian, I'm afraid it's the one by Phil Kenshaw on a Blackpool wurlitzer, made in 1973.  Shocked
If you look on Japanese Amazon, you just might find the recording by Andre von Huysserlitz, dating from only three years later, one of the first period harmonium recordings there was, predating the wave of young HIP players on the instrument that we all remember from the 1980s. It was only ever produced in a limited edition of 100 copies, though, and the second-hand ones around might set you back around £150 - well-worth it, though, trust me.
he's not joking, martle.

It's a pity we didn't get to hear the complete Joyce Hatto harmonium recordings - all genuine recordings of undiscovered masterpieces, undiscovered up to, including and, indeed, well beyond the recording Sessions (known as "Rogers" by those in the know, or, for Sydney, the "gnow").

Anyway, thanks Ian. I guess Phil's version is, on reflection, a tad non-HIP. It's just the buzz he gives the 7th symphony in particular when he flicks the bossa nova switch which appeals, I guess.

I think you may be the lucky owner of one of the earliest known examples of postmodern performance on disc, predating the Michael Nyman scores, the Baltic monks, Simon Rattle, and so on. Do look after that (and don't do an Ollie with it) - it sounds like a priceless collector's item.

which recording?  I've heard the Tallis Scholars one, but I'm guessing the Huelgas Ens one is better ...

Cancel that...I'm ploughing through some dross by Toshio Hosokawa, following it with James Dillon's 3rd quartet and THEN, Huber's quintet...
