The BBC's predictability is now beyond parody.  Browsing through the Observer TV listings for Friday, I see that BBC4 is starting a four week series on Early Music.  OK, fine so far, but

Presented by Charles Hazlewood!!!     AAGH!!!!!

I think that might be a repeat.  There was one a while back that had people like Red Priest in it.  and what a delight they were! Not!

On the subject of repeats by the way - how does BBC4 get away with it?  They must surely have more repeats than any other channel.  It's appalling that they get away with it.

Thinking about it though, Sky is worse.  I switched on today and going through the channels, any programme I wanted to watch,  I had seen before and they'd been going round and round for literally years some of them.

Rings a bell Milly. If so, I think it will also have Lucie Skeaping's klezmer band, Robin Blaze and Viktoria Mullova playing solo Bach.

Yep that's the fella!  That's what our licence fee does - pays for programmes to be circulated round and round for years because they can't afford to produce new ones.  I blame Jonathan Ross's salary requirements (among other equally idiotic decisions).  Roll Eyes

I hadn't realised that it had been shown before. Clearly the mention of CH stopped me from watching the first time. And it certainly will be the same this week.

I notice now that the Observer states that it is a repeat, but it still nominates the programme as its Digital Pick of the Day!!

A final push is needed, I think, for signatures on the petition. There are now 402, most of which have statements attached, which is excellent. But anything you can all do (sterling work done already by many of you, of course - thanks) to publicise the petition further would be very useful.

Thanks to all,

Grin I've copied and pasted this post and sent it through my entire address book for the third time - but as most of my friends are already on the petition, I don't hold out much hope. You never know though - they might be able to galvanise more people into action.
