Also known as a 'six-pack' we understand For the avoidance of doubt and libel actions we should make clear that this is not Mr Oliver Sudden.

I don't wish to quibble but the problem was that the definition part - quite - was buried in a cryptic part - that's out of order. But I suppose it is appropriate to bury something in a crypt. Thank you anyway, Mr Grew, for your puzzle.
Does anyone else here try the Sunday Telegraph Enigmatic Variations crossword?

Thanks to Mr Grew for giving us his answer. But what would have been wrong with...
Seamen initially less youthful are divided by the calling of an instrument - completely.

Seamen initially less youthful are divided by the calling of an instrument - completely. That is indeed succincter than our own ponderous effort. In the beginning we wished to construct a clue for the adjective "absolute," but failed in that endeavour. Perhaps the Member - or indeed any Member - can think of something?

I can only suggest along previously explored lines 'Complete sextet calls for something to pluck (8 )'...

Here's an easy pair inspired by a recent thread: In one corner some Hanoverian oddly dwells (6) In the other corner start brood with German ejaculation (4)

Punishment for public disorderliness mixed up with instrument - of that we are certain. Tommo
