I don't wish to quibble but the problem was that the definition part - quite - was buried in a cryptic part - that's out of order. But I suppose it is appropriate to bury something in a crypt. Thank you anyway, Mr Grew, for your puzzle.

That is indeed succincter than our own ponderous effort. In the beginning we wished to construct a clue for the adjective "absolute," but failed in that endeavour. Perhaps the Member - or indeed any Member - can think of something?
