does it has anything to do with china? Britten has The Prince of the Pagodas ballet.
I don't know Aho, but there are chinese songs there.

No oriental connection in this one. I did see The Prince of the Pagodas some years ago at the ROH - a quite brilliant score. I'm surprised it's not performed more.

Doesn't Aho's 2nd Symphony have a "cricket" (as in the insect) movement? or is it a grasshopper mov't? This is probably miles away...!
