I'm going to have to go to bed, but I'll be thinking about heavenly bodies.   Kiss

I only recently posted, over at the FoR3 forum, a planetary connection last week, with some of the same combinations!

Great minds think alike. (I'm an infrequent to FoR3, I will check them out this weekend).

So, just the add-ons

Purcell - Now, now that the sun hath veil'd his light
Haydn - 'Mercury' Symphony (No 43)
Ron Goodwin - Venus Waltz
Mahler - Song of the Earth
Dvorak - Song to the Moon from Rusalka
Boyce - Song of Momus to Mars
WA Mozart  - 'Jupiter' Symphony No 41
Hovhaness - Saturn, cantata for soprano, clarinet & piano
Jimi Hendrix - Uranus Rock
Cyril Scott - Neptune, poem of the sea
Offenbach - Hoch Pluto und sein feu

the addons are because I included Pluto.....

Schubert
Lukás

I think the Schubert is his Wanderer Fantasy, a planet being a "wanderer".

Not Wanderer Tony.

We're still on names of Solar System bodies. We've had our sun, our moon, the planets and Pluto........

Ceres is correct. Ceres and Pluto are 'dwarf planets' in our Solar System but there is a third......

Not Eros.

Ceres is located in the asteroid belt but the third 'dwarf planet' is located beyond the orbit of Pluto....

Ah well, it's about 8 years since I stopped doing pratical astronomy and being a member of an astronomical society so I suppose the odd mistake is allowed?  Grin

Thanks Parsifal, the last connection is indeed

Lukas: CARA MIHI SEMPER ERIS?

Eris is the third 'dwarf planet'

Hey don't feel so bad Jonathan, they only discovered Eris in 2005.
